So many things! Such little time!

Man oh man! Time sure does fly. I was having my routine morning cup of coffee and realized it’s already APRIL and I haven’t updated you all since mid January. Shame on me — But hey I’ve been keepin’ busy here in my world of creation.

The first quarter of this year brought some young and serious talent to the studio. Started an EP with a great new artist named Nelson Romantic. Was such a fun record to do and super excited for people to hear the production on this one! Big drums / Big guitars / Killer vocals over some aggressive indie riffs.

Spent a good amount of time writing an EP with up an up and coming indie rock band from Vegas called “The Runaway Lives“. Spent some time in January writing 5 tunes and revamping their sound and tracked the album for two weeks in February. Real stoked on this one cause I was a big part of writing the tunes with them. Super anthemic / dancy / and full of fist pumping shouty choruses. Fans of Fall Out Boy, The 1975 and classic pop punk will be into these guys. Currently working on a video for their debut song “Kings & Queens” which will be directed by the very talented Andrew Rose. Known for his work with Tori Kelly, JR Aquino and many others.

February also brought young singer / songwriter and San Diego local Chelsey Chavez to the Cave. Some fun beachy, acoustic pop tunes in the vein of Anuhea, Colbie Caillat with a bit of a country flair on some of the tunes. This was a great record. This album will be dropping in May. Co-wrote this entire EP with her and also got to sing on a cool duet titled “Back To The Start“. chels

March brought one of my good friends Chrizle Chrizle. Worked on a fun 7 track EP. This one was a blast! During our production meeting she was adamant about making sure that there were NO RULES in the creation of the songs. Which was a treat for me because I’ve grown accustomed to structure’s. We definitely went the experimental route on a lot of the production. Using lots of interesting compression / eq’s / guitar tones and drum tones as well. This EP is full of crunch, dirt, and wet reverbs all over the place. A very visual batch of songs that I enjoyed mixing. Be on the lookout for this!

M/S room mic’s on the drums for the Chrizle Chrizle EP.

As of now — Writing with the insanely rad Kendra Mckenzie. Co-producing this dance / house / funk album with none other than JBird who is known for his work with Jeff Bernat on his albums “The Gentleman Approach” and “Modern Renaissance“.

The rest of 2014 is looking to be an exciting one. Will be working with AJ Rafael on a secret little project that we’ll share soon in May, an EP with Andrew Garcia and a brand new full length with Ryan Mitchell Grey. Hope you are ready for these!

And that’s about it for this update! Hope all is well in your world. Keep creating, keeping being awesome, and keep on with your dreams. Love to you all and thanks for following me and the team through this journey. Talk soon.

Mid January Update!

Hope everyone’s having a solid new year so far! Been a great start here. Just finished a week of writing with indie / pop / rock group The Runaway Lives from Las Vegas this week! Picked up right after and started tracking some new songs for The Gardiner Sisters yesterday. We’re doing these songs remotely which is pretty fun and interesting. They are a lovely and talented bunch and can’t wait for you guys to hear what we have cookin’ up! Hope all is well in your world. Keep the music and good vibes flowin’ everybody :)
